Wednesday 16th I may as well keep using this thread, so that my higgledy piggledy pics dont get confused with Jeffs great shots! So, today was the day I have waited over 20 years to see again... The beautiful shape of the vulcan. sadly the sun didnt stay to watch. This thing may be bigger and graceful in its own way, but my how aircraft design has gone downhill after the vulcan At least the Typhoon looks good whatever the weather, and after all, it is a delta

Hi Paul, I missed the B1 from inside on Tues (though managed to see it very low over Church Crookham) there were reports of it being well over the crowd as it passed down the display line, in your opinion how close was it? Waited around Wed for a repeat performance but either the pilot got a dressing down for breaking every Farnborough flying rule or they replaced the pilot!! whichever it was it resulted in Wed flyby being very high and with very little energy

Jeff I was situated at Eelmoor for the passes, along the fence at around its highest point. From the angle of my first picture, you can see the first pass was along the runway, not the dispaly line, and I think when he got to the far end, he may just have crossed the crowd line. The biggest problem came as he turned to come back and crossed into London ATC on a big swing and then turned to come back flat out, again along the runway but this time (reported on Radio Airshow commentary) at 600 knots! I dont know my beaufort scae very well, so I couldnt say if that was true, but the picture tells its story! Anyway, the following day the crew was changed and they were not given permission for a fast pass. Today, it all changed again! Instead of turning at one end, he circled round, came along slowly one way, then did a circle and repeated the same direction a bit faster. All I can say is, keep up the good work USAF!!

And so on to today Thursday 17th July Today was officially duller than a dull thing in a dull place. I almost couldnt be bothered to take pictures. Firstly the weather, and then the display itself seemed to me to be about the weakest display afternoon I have ever seen at Farnborough. In the murk was the Spitfire PRXIX And to exaggerate the dullness, here is the Blades taking off in the late afternoon gloom Bring on Friday!

As you say the 17th has to be the most boring of flying displays ever at Farnborough, so much so that I didn't hang around at all for the flying and was home before the flying display started without taking one picture!! nice pis by the way

Friday 18th July A much more exciting display today, but oh god... the weather! Its almost like taking pictures at night. I have a few here, that would have given me a huge beam across my face if there was a little sunshine to light them up. Anyway, here's a few, and I hope the sun has his hat on tomorrow, because I'm inside! Here comes the beautiful Delta Lady... The Reds were fantastic but even they looked dull! The Typhoon tried to light things up The F-16 made its way through the clouds And the F-18 made its way through the rain I credit some of the photographs to the superb location - the middle of a roundabout on the A327!
